Work Trade Program

One of the most exciting ways to spend time at Sandscrest is in our Work Trade program. Work trade positions are open year-round, and we ask for a minimum commitment of two months from each participant. Being a part of our Work Trade Program will not interfere with your paying job, as Work Traders are expected to work only 15 hours per week.

 

Work Trade includes a wide range of projects, including building, gardening, maintenance, firewood, etc., as well as your share of cooking and cleaning. It also includes participating in weekly business meetings. Most of the work is done without supervision, although community members come in regularly to provide lessons and direction. While we welcome people with specific interests, such as natural building or permaculture, we do expect work traders to help with all different types of work.

 

Work traders are housed here at Sandscrest and pay all utilities, and we provide wireless internet at no charge. Sorry, but we are generally not open to work-traders bringing pets.
